No matter what you may think about your personal wealth, it is of the utmost importance that you make a will because if you were to pass away without one certain rules set out by the government would dictate how your money, property or possessions would we allocated which could have been against your wishes.

You should keep in mind that unmarried partners or those that have not registered a civil partnership won’t be able to inherit from each other unless you have a will in place. When drafting your Will you should appoint an Executor or Executors who will be responsible for carrying out your wishes. They will be responsible for dealing with all the paper work, arranging and paying for your funeral, taxes and other administration costs out of the money left from your estate and of course pay out or transfer the property, gifts or money to the beneficiaries of your choice. You can choose to appoint any relatives or friends or Solicitors or Accountants. It is advisable to appoint more than one executor.

Once your will has been made you must keep it in a safe place.
